Emigration:
The village or area where a Johan Henrich Kipp emigrated from has not been identified to my knowledge. The Kipp surname is mainly located in Steinfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany but is also in Borken, Minden-Libbecke, and Herford in North Rhine_Westphalia. (47%) There is also a concentration in Rottwell, Baden-Württemberg (13%). There are lesser concentrations in other parts of Germany. There was also Johan Henrich Kipp from Flomborn Germany who was born in 1733, which is about the right age for "our" Henry Kipp. He was confirmed in 1746 and that's the last information about him in Flomborn. Church records show that Johan Heinrich's brother batized his youngest son Johan Henrich. The sponser was someone other than "our" Johan Henrich which may indicate he didn't live in the area any more.

Immigration:
Records exist that state a Johan Henrich Kipp imigrated to the US via Philadelphia, PA in 1752 on the Richard and Mary from Rotterdam. This individual may be Henry Kipp himself, but I could find no records to confirm this. The first name for many Germans was after a saint ie JOHN or a variation of that and the middle name was the one they used. Age to be listed on immigration records at that time was 16 or older. A John Kipp is on the tax rolls of Lancaster County in 1771. I feel this John Kipp was an individual who immigrated in about 1754. A Michael Kipp imigrated in about 1749 but it appears he stayed in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Occupation:
The land patent issued to Henry Kipp in 1763 indicates his profession as being a Black Smith.
